Paul Auster – Dialogue

The film focuses on the political side of the author Paul Auster, as well as his poetic side,

and shows how the artist fought for the lost dream of a democratic America. Through his

eyes, we look at seventy years of American history. Director Sabine Liddle meets with the

author for a very personal talk at his home in Brooklyn, New York, and Auster provides

insight into his childhood and family history. The film combines excerpts from the last novel

he has published so far, 4 3 2 1, alongside Auster's own biography, and the result is a

fascinating dialogue between the author and an imaginary character.

In collaboration with DocAviv.

Director: Sabine Liddle

Duration: 53 minutes

Germany 2018 – English, French and German with translation into Hebrew
