Researchers in the Faculties of Life Science (Biology and Biochemistry) at the Weizmann Institute are dedicated to understanding life at all levels from individual molecules and cellular signaling pathways to whole organisms and behavior. Our research is multidisciplinary and encompasses a diverse range of fields including bimolecular science, immunology, molecular and cell biology, molecular genetics, neuroscience, plant science and regenerative medicine. Our scientists pioneer innovative technologies and utilize state-of-the-art techniques and big data methodologies. Researchers are supported by world-class life science core facilities including bioinformatics, multi-omics, microscopy, and medicinal chemistry and drug discovery units. Our fundamental objective is to unravel the mechanisms that govern life at all scales. As a leading life science faculty in Israel and globally, we strive to translate this knowledge into identifying the causes of and developing new treatments for a wide spectrum of human diseases including cancer, neurodegenerative and psychiatric disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and metabolic disorders, and many more..
