A lecture dealing with the path by which discoveries of basic research find their way into commercialization, and into significant economic value. The lecture was delivered in November 2011 as the ninth annual lecture in memory of Samuel Neaman, organized by the Neaman Institute at the Technion campus, Haifa.

Besides demonstrating several case studies as examples of successes and failures, the talk also presents certain rules and policies which may facilitate this incredible voyage.
