Microbes display remarkable regulatory capacity, phenotypic plasticity, and a propensity to establish intricate social assemblies with emergent properties. This complexity underlies their immense environmental success and presents a vast resource for sustainable technologies in a rapidly changing world. Our lab applies tools from Systems Biology to study the amazing versatility of bacteria through the lens of gene regulation, single-cell biology, and evolution.

We are primarily interested in learning how phenotypic heterogeneity and spatial patterning shape social interactions within clonal populations and how RNA-based mechanisms enhance microbial regulatory capacity. We employ various tools to pursue these questions, including classic and molecular microbiology, high-throughput sequencing, computational biology, and massively multiplexed imaging.

We are looking for excellent students and postdocs to join us!
