Staff Scientist (Biophysics & Soft Matter)
Your role will include:
The research group of Alexandra Tayar at the Weizmann Institute of Science seeks a highly qualified, self-motivated Staff Scientist (PhD + 2 years post-PhD experience, postdoc counts).
The successful candidate will collaborate with Israeli and international team members, develop experimental and data-analysis methods, improve measurement setups, and contribute to scientific publications.
The Tayar group conducts experimental research in biophysics and soft matter, including molecular energy transduction, molecular machines, and emergent properties of biomaterials.

Skills and abilities:
Required Qualifications
• PhD in Physics, Biophysics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field + at least 2 years of post-PhD experience (postdoc counts).
• Fluent English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong self-learning ability and curiosity.
• Proven ability to write code and analyze data (e.g., MATLAB, C).
• Significant experience with biophysical measurements and microscopy.
• Experience with software-hardware interfaces.
Preferred / Advantageous
• Hands-on instrumentation (microscopy and 3d printing).
• Image processing (Fiji/ImageJ /matlab or equivalent).
• Microfabrication experience.
• Microbiology or protein assays.
• DNA cloaning.
• Additional programming (e.g., Python, LabVIEW) is a plus.
