Your role will include:
The Weizmann Institute of Science, one of the world’s leading research institutions, is recruiting a Head of the Office for Sustainability to lead the Institute’s environmental strategy.
This is a key and innovative role that includes shaping sustainability policy, leading cross-disciplinary initiatives, and working with all institutional bodies to promote sustainability, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the Institute’s sustainability policy, aligned with its strategic vision
- Manage and implement projects in the fields of energy efficiency, green construction, waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable resource use
- Initiate and secure support for innovative sustainability projects
- Represent the Institute in professional forums and with regulatory authorities
- Measure, analyze, and present periodic sustainability indicators
- Build cross-organizational collaborations with communities and external organizations
- Lead processes and promote environmental awareness across the campus
Skills and abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Public Policy, or related fields – required
- Master’s degree – advantage
Professional Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in sustainability roles, environmental project management, or equivalent systemic positions
- Experience with environmental standards, regulations, and global best practices
- Experience working in academic or research institutions – significant advantage
Skills and Competencies:
- Strategic thinking and proven ability to lead cross-organizational projects and implement change processes
- Orientation toward the scientific world and a basic understanding of research environments
- Full proficiency in Hebrew and English, both written and spoken
- Excellent interpersonal relations and high-level communication skills
