Senior leadership role at the Weizmann Institute of Science

The Weizmann School of Science invites candidates to apply for a senior, significant, and high-impact role at the core of its academic activity.
This is a senior management position that combines strategic, managerial, and academic responsibility, including leading the School of Science and the School of Medicine, promoting the vision of education and training of the next generation in science, and managing a large-scale, complex, multi-interface system.
Within this role, there will be overall responsibility for the academic and operational conduct of the schools, development and implementation of strategic work plans, leadership of management teams and staff, promotion of cross-organizational processes, ongoing work with senior management and senior academic stakeholders in Israel and worldwide, as well as guidance and leadership of the student and research community.
The role includes managing a large-scale system of approximately 2,000 students and postdoctoral fellows, alongside leading a large and professional team consisting of dozens of employees and managers.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Leading the vision, strategy, and work plans of the School of Science and the School of Medicine
•    Managing a complex, multi-system academic and operational framework
•    Direct management of managers, heads of domains, and professional teams
•    Promoting processes of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
•    Ongoing work with the senior management of the Weizmann Institute of Science, academic faculty, committees, and external national-level stakeholders (government)
•    Leading change processes, addressing complex issues, and managing sensitive interfaces

Skills and abilities:

•    Master’s degree – required (PhD – a significant advantage; degree in the sciences – a significant advantage)
•    Proven experience of at least 5 years in senior management of a complex system, including large teams and managers
•    Significant experience in leading large-scale organizational activity, working across multiple interfaces, and with senior management
•    Familiarity with higher education systems / academic institutions – a significant advantage
•    Experience in developing and leading strategic plans and organizational processes
•    Hebrew and English at a very high level, both written and spoken
•    High interpersonal abilities, sound judgment, representational capability, and the ability to lead in a complex and dynamic environment
