Your role will include:

Overall responsibility for construction safety aspects at the Institute:

  • Ongoing monitoring of the implementation of safety regulations, including direct reporting of risks and deficiencies to the relevant parties
  • Conducting periodic site visits to construction sites to verify the contractor’s compliance with legal requirements, regulations, and safety guidelines
  • Review and verification of the existence and implementation of a construction site safety management plan
  • Identification, assessment, and reporting of unacceptable risks, including immediate reporting to the client and the contractor in accordance with procedures and legal requirements
  • Follow-up on the handling of identified safety deficiencies and verification that they are addressed within the legally required timeframes
  • Submission of periodic reports to the Regional Labor Inspector, including reports on appointment and termination of role, in accordance with legal requirements







     

 

Skills and abilities:

  • Engineer/Practical Engineer – required; in the field of construction – preferred
  • At least 8 years of experience in supervision and control of safety in civil engineering works, including renovations
  • Training and certification as an Occupational Safety Officer and completion of a “Sectoral Training in Construction and Engineering Construction” course, approved and supervised by the Ministry of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration / Ministry of Industry, Trade and Employment – Labor Inspection Division
  • Graduate of a Fire Safety Officer course, including certification from an institution recognized by the National Fire and Rescue Authority
  • Valid competency approval in accordance with the Work Supervision Organization Regulations – required
  • Certification as a General Work at Height Instructor – required
  • Certification to provide instruction to site managers and maintenance personnel on behalf of the Ministry of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration – required
  • Full proficiency in Office applications
  • Full proficiency in Hebrew and English, including academic-level writing and instructional ability
  • Ability to work in a team, with strong service orientation and high-level interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work beyond standard hours, as required
