Your role will include:
We are seeking a highly experienced and professionally authoritative Production Floor Manager to lead a central and dynamic manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key interface between research and development teams and production, requiring deep understanding of complex manufacturing processes, operational flexibility, and strong leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, plan, and oversee day-to-day production activities, including CNC machining, turning, milling, and manual machining work.
- Work closely with researchers and engineers to understand needs and translate them into drawings and practical manufacturing solutions.
- Prioritize tasks according to research needs, timelines, and level of urgency.
- Lead and manage a skilled team of machinists, technicians, and production staff.
- Ensure quality, precision, and compliance with required standards.
- Oversee maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of equipment and machinery.
- Manage technical purchasing, raw materials, and cutting tools.
- Improve processes and implement advanced manufacturing technologies.
Skills and abilities:
- Practical Engineer in Mechanical Engineering – required.
- Mechanical Engineer – significant advantage.
- At least 10 years of experience in machining/manufacturing, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role within a production floor environment.
- Proven experience operating and managing 5-axis CNC machines.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings.
- Experience with CAD software such as Cimatron / SolidWorks / Inventor.
- Familiarity with prototype manufacturing and one-off custom parts production.
- Strong understanding of materials, machining technologies, quality standards, and quality control processes.
- Good technical English.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to work with diverse interfaces, problem-solving skills, and ability to perform in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
