Tutorials

Sundays, 1415-1600 in Katzir Center (Ullman building)

Office hours

Wednesdays 1500-1700, room 612 in Wolfson building

On June 25th, office hours will take place from 3:45pm to 5pm.

The last office hours will take place on Tuesday, July 1st, from 3pm to 5pm instead of Wednesday July 2nd.

It is difficult to give personalized feedback by email to 70+ registered class participants. Therefore, the tutors will in principle not give feedback on the exercise sheets by email. Participants in the class are welcome to discuss the exercise sheets with the tutors during the weekly classes, tutorials and office hours.

Exam

The exam will take place on July 3rd 2014, from 10am to 1pm in the Weissman auditorium (Physics building).

All students can take the exam. The final grade in the course will consist of  50% the exam, and the extra 50% from the exercise sheets.

The grade on the exercises will be calculated as follows: we will take the best 8 grades out of the 11 exercises and average them. An exercise that wasn't handed in gets a 0.

Online lectures

Videos of the lectures from the 2014 class are available here.

After the lecture, videos need to be transfered to digital format, edited, and uploaded. We try to upload the videos as fast as possible, but because of these three steps, it can take 2-3 weeks for the videos of the 2014 class to appear online. Videos from the lectures of the 2011 class are avilable here, but the topics of the lectures are not necessarily identical.

Exercise sheets

There will be one new exercise sheet every week. Two weeks will be given to return the solutions to the tutors.

Please return answer sheets in print instead of by email. This will save you the time of scanning / picturing your work, and save us the time of printing your exercises from emails onto paper again.

Extensions: because granting and managing extensions on a case-by-case basis is time intensive, the rule for this class is that there will be no extension past the dates mentioned above. Instead, exercise sheets will be released two weeks prior to the due date to allow participants to plan when to work on the exercise. In addition, participants can choose not to return up to three exercise sheets and yet remain eligible for credit.
