A Bit About Us

The Procurement Economics section deals with the economic calculations required for long-term procurement, and for projects carried out by the Procurement division. Work in this section is carried out in close cooperation with various Procurement division branches.

Also under the responsibility of the Procurement Economics section are maintenance orders for large scientific equipment/devices from the Institute's strategic suppliers. An important contribution of the Procurerment Economics section in this regard is the constant updating and review of Institutional service agreements, ensuring that the Institute's size advantage is reflected in profitable service terms.

Key section functions

  • Performing economic calculations related to strategic Institute procurement activities.
  • Drafting Institutional service agreements with key maintenance suppliers, in cooperation with the local Procurement branch, and the International Procurement, Import and Export branch.
  • Gauging the quality of service received from the Institute's maintenance suppliers.
  • Measuring and concentrating the efficiency and savings achieved by the Procurement division.
  • Consulting the Tenders and Contracts branch within the framework of select tenders, on such issues as bid weighting, estimate checks, etc.
  • Handling large-scale service orders for the repair and maintenance of scientific equipment (valued at more than 100,000 NIS excluding VAT).
