INITIATIVES & PRIORITIES

The Global Campaign: Empower Tomorrow

Empower Tomorrow is a global initiative to shape the future of humanity through science. By investing in brilliant minds and pioneering research, the campaign accelerates discoveries that improve health, protect our planet, and expand human knowledge. Every act of support strengthens the community of scientists and partners who believe that science, powered by people, can change the world. Science doesn’t happen in isolation, but through the collective vision and generosity of those who believe in its promise. Join us in empowering tomorrow.

The Institute for Environmental Sustainability

The IES, a flagship project, is advancing research to help find solutions to the major environmental challenges, including food security, climate change, marine sciences, renewable energy, green materials, and biodiversity.

Knell Family Institute for Artificial Intelligence

The Knell Institute in the Ilana and Pascal Mantoux Building for Artificial Intelligence will advance AI research across campus and develop new AI tools.

The Miriam and Aaron Gutwirth Medical School

The Miriam and Aaron Gutwirth Medical School will train future physician-scientists, offering joint MD and PhD degrees in partnership with Sheba Tel Hashomer Medical Center and other Israeli hospitals.

Frontiers of the Universe

Frontiers leverages Weizmann expertise in particle physics and astrophysics to advance understanding of the Universe, and includes the multinational ULTRASAT space mission, the first Israeli scientific space telescope.

Ogen: Helping Israeli children cope with wartime trauma

The Ogen program addresses the rising rates of post-traumatic stress disorder and other psychological effects of the war among children, offering schoolchildren personal and classroom mentoring by university students and professional staff.

The Innovation Ecosystem

Our Innovation Ecosystem ensures that discoveries from the basic research realm are advanced into the marketplace for the benefit of all. Read here about Bina, a unit that nurtures promising research to the point they are ripe for the creation of intellectual property.

Advancing women in science

Ensuring that all the brightest minds are brought to bear on scientific research means diversifying our faculty and enlarging the percentage of women scientists. We've made major progress toward this aim but there's more work to do.

The Student Experience

The Weizmann School of Science is prioritizing the recruitment of the best students and postdocs, the lifeblood of our labs. With philanthropic support, the School plans to enlarge living stipends and offer new merit-based and financial hardship funding.

Enriching our community

From theater to art and music, from sports to holiday gatherings, the Weizmann Institute is more than science - it's a community. If you're in Rehovot, join us for fun and relaxation at 'Culture at Sela' events.
