The Young Weizmann Scholars Program, is designed for undergraduate students who are studying science in Israeli institutions of higher education. The program aims to support and develop the interest of undergraduate students in pursuing a career in the sciences and to strengthen their curiosity and commitment through real laboratory experiences.

The program provides a unique educational opportunity to join a research group at the Weizmann Institute of Science and be involved in experimental or theoretical research under the direct guidance of scientists

Who may apply?

 

The program aims to enlarge the representation in higher education, of students from underrepresented groups in the field of science in higher education.   

This program welcomes Israeli students from the following groups:

  • Arab, Druse
  • Ethiopian Israelis
  • Students from the ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) Jewish community
  • Students from the geographical periphery who are the first generation of their family to pursue higher education

Students should be in their second or third year studying physics, chemistry, life sciences, medicine, math, or computer science.

Required documents

 

  • CV (the first page of the CV should include a passport photo);
  • Current official transcript of courses and grades;
  • Copy of Israeli ID card.
  • Letters of recommendation (an advantage). 
  • Please indicate to which diversity group you belong: Arabs, Ethiopian-Israelis, Haredi, periphery, or first generation in higher education.
