The Panopto System

The IT Infrastructure Branch has recently deployed a new lecture capture system capable of recording lessons and lectures in classrooms and lecture halls.

The system is based on a cloud computing solution by Panopto – the world leader in Live Capture technology, whose customers include many universities from all over the globe.

Lectures are recorded via an array of cameras and microphones installed in lecture halls and classrooms, and the system is capable of combining recordings from as many as three cameras, as well as presentation and lecturer computer displays.

Lessons can be watched via browser (or dedicated apps), with viewers allowed to review both presentations and video footage, and even select video sources of choice.

The system supports Webcasts accessible via browser anywhere, both throughout Israel and worldwide, with no limitation on the number of viewers.

Connection to the system and login is performed via Weizmann Institute user ID and password.

You may submit a request via an online form to record lessons and lectures.
