Windows 10 PC Operating System
New PCs purchased at the Institute will come preinstalled with Windows 10, and others can be upgraded as per the following minimum requirements:
- PCs must support Microsoft KMS (Key Management Server) based activation
(we generally recommend against upgrading PCs purchased prior to January of 2013) - A minimum of 4 GBs of RAM
- Availability of Windows 10-compatible drivers for your specific hardware peripherals (this can be verified with the Service Desk)
- Windows 10 compatibility of the software applications you use (for a list of incompatible software, or to check compatibility of a specific software application with Windows 10, please contact the Service Desk)
