The social services unit at the Weizmann Institute is available to all students and provides a wide range of therapeutic and supportive services, with the aim of assisting in coping with psychosocial challenges.

Job Description:
• Providing psychosocial support to international students and postdoctoral researchers at the School of Research
• Guidance, support, and assistance in coping with personal, academic, and emotional challenges
• Handling situations of emotional and/or mental distress
• Assisting in coping with functional, familial, and health-related difficulties
• Working with and in collaboration with the Dean of Students at the School of Research
• Systemic work with psychiatrists, psychologists, the student’s family, and at times external bodies such as the National Insurance Institute
• Organizing workshops, support groups, and lectures on relevant topics for groups as needed
• Ability to handle mental health emergencies (anxiety, depression, suicidality)
• Providing support and guidance in cases of harassment or sexual assault
• Working as part of the Weizmann Institute’s social services team

Skills and abilities:

• Master’s degree in Social Work – mandatory
• High level of English – mandatory
• At least 5 years of experience in therapeutic work – mandatory
• Psychotherapy training – significant advantage
• Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and sensitivity
