Your role will include:

The Life Sciences Core Facilities Department is seeking a Bioinformatics Analyst to join a team providing advanced bioinformatics services and analyses to research groups across the institute. 

The role includes analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Third-Generation sequencing data for a wide range of applications, including:
Transcriptomics, Epigenomics, Metagenomics, Genetic Variation, Single-Cell Analysis, including spatial imaging data.

Responsibilities:
• Implementing and evaluating innovative analytical tools and methodologies
• Developing and improving computational methods and pipelines
• Collaborating closely with researchers in the planning and execution of advanced data analyses tailored to research needs

Skills and abilities:

• PhD in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Computer Science combined with Biology – required
• At least 3 years of experience in NGS data analysis – required
• Proficiency in Python and R scripting languages – required
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments – required
• Experience in statistical analysis and/or artificial intelligence – an advantage
• Knowledge and experience in image analysis – an advantage
• High proficiency in Hebrew and English, both written and spoken
• Training and presentation skills, including the ability to present to an audience
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Strong self-learning abilities, initiative, and motivation to stay up to date with emerging technologies
• Strong service orientation and excellent interpersonal communication skills
