Your role will include:

  • Responsibility for the engineering, operation, and maintenance of the Weizmann Institute's communication network, including:
    Cisco-based user network
    Cisco-based Data Center network
    Cisco WiFi6(e)-based wireless network
    Meraki solution-based dormitory network
  • Support for IP-based telephony system communication infrastructure
  • Building control network management
  • Management and maintenance of the organizational IPAM system
  • Management and maintenance of Load Balancers
  • Providing Tier 3 service and troubleshooting on campus
  • Management of large-scale communication infrastructure projects
  • Network troubleshooting and working with clients
  • Specification, planning, and implementation of communication equipment deployment in campus LAN and Data Center environments

Skills and abilities:

  • Proven hands-on experience leading, planning, and executing at least 3 complex infrastructure projects that included implementation of at least 3 of the following technologies: Cisco ACI, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Optical Routing (NCS), Cisco Wireless Controller 9800, Infoblox DDI, Alteon HLB, Waterfall Uni Gateway – prerequisite
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a communication team within a large and complex organization – required
  • At least 3 years of experience in planning and maintaining a Cisco-based communication network, including Catalyst 9K and Nexus equipment – required
  • High level of English and ability to write technical documents in English – required
  • Experience writing Python scripts – advantage
  • Experience working with Ansible – advantage
  • Valid Cisco certification at CCNP/CCDP level – advantage
  • Valid Cisco certification at CCIE level – advantage
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering in a relevant field – advantage
  • Experience maintaining Cisco SDN networks – advantage
  • Experience maintaining Cisco security appliances – advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of communication protocols and understanding of communication infrastructure and applications – DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, OSPF, VSS, VPC, MST – advantage
  • Experience and understanding of radio technology and wireless network maintenance – advantage
  • Experience maintaining IP Telephony networks – advantage
  • Experience maintaining IPAM services – advantage
  • Familiarity with management systems (e.g., Cisco Catalyst Center) – advantage
  • Assertiveness, leadership ability, and high level of interpersonal communication
  • Willingness to work beyond standard working hours
  • Self-learning capability, ability to work both in a team and independently
