Basic research opens up new frontiers of exploration organically, in an approach that prioritizes refining understanding about life and the universe we inhabit. Moreover, science is a source of resilience for society. The critical thinking skills and teamwork involved in the scientific endeavor can offer every citizen the tools to turn obstacles into opportunities. Weizmann science has a long history of success in generating new concepts and discoveries that have changed the face of science and made transformational impact in key fields, including the creation of life-sustaining and life-enhancing products like drugs, devices, treatment methods, and cutting-edge technologies.
