Android is a popular, Linux kernel-based operating system for smartphones and tablets.

Instructions for Use

To set up an Exchange account on an Android device, perform the following:

1. Access your Android device's settings.
2. Tap Accounts & sync.
3. Tap Add account.
4. Tap Exchange (this option may also be listed as Active Sync/Corporate on some devices).
5. Enter your e-mail address and password in the corresponding fields, then tap Next.
6. Enter Exchange server settings as follows:
   
   Domain: WISMAIN.
   Username: your user ID.
   Password: enter if blank.
   Server: mail.weizmann.ac.il.
   
   Should the Domain field not be available on your Android device, simply enter the WISMAIN domain name as a prefix to your user ID in the Username field (e.g. WISMAIN\your user ID).
    
7. Check Use secure connection (SSL).
8. Check Accept all SSL certificates.
9. If Remote Security Administration and/or Device Administrator pop-ups appear, tap OK/Activate.
10. Set account options/settings as follows:
    1. Tap Automatic (Push) under Inbox check frequency to change the way your device checks for new items (manually or once every X minutes).
    2. Tap Three days under Amount to synchronize to limit the number of items downloaded to your device.
    3. You may optionally want to select Sync contacts and Sync calendar in addition to mail items. Note that synchronizing Exchange contacts may result in full or partial duplication of contacts already stored in your smartphone's SIM card, which you may have to correct with manual deletion.
11. When done, tap Next.
12. Finally, when asked to name the account, enter Exchange and tap Done. Your Exchange mailbox is now accessible through your Android device's e-mail widget.

Apple’s iOS is the operating system installed on all of Apple's mobile devices - namely the iPod, iPhone and iPad. It ships with pre-integrated Mail, Calendar and Address Book apps.

We recommend using iOS version 11 and higher.

These applications are the intuitive way to obtain e-mails and access Exchange-based collaboration data. They integrate seamlessly with our Exchange servers, and are easy to configure and use.

We offer basic assistance in configuring your device to work with the Institute's Exchange server.

Installation Instructions

The Mail application is embedded in iOS. To set up mail on your iOS device:

1. Access your device settings.
2. Choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
3. Choose Add Account -> Exchange.
4. Enter your e-mail address, password and a description, and click Next.
5. Specify the following:
   
   Server: mail.weizmann.ac.il.
   Domain: WISMAIN.
   Username: your Weizmann user ID.
    
6. Click Next. The system will verify the information you provided and set up your contacts, calendar and reminders.

Important note: the iOS-based Mail app displays your most recent correspondence only, and does not host your mailbox content in its entirety. You may search and access older e-mail messages via the app's search feature.

Given that setting up e-mail on Blackberry devices may be complicated, open a support ticket via the Service Desk, and a service representative will contact you to assist in performing the necessary configuration.
