Academic Accommodations
General
The Weizmann School of Science (WSoS) is sensitive to the needs of students and postdoctoral fellows with special needs and provides the necessary arrangements to support their studies and training.
Academic Accommodations
The WSoS is prepared to consider and adopt academic accommodations and adjustments previously granted to students by another higher education institution. However, it should be noted that each request will be re-evaluated and approved only if the accommodations are consistent with the course and instructor requirements and align with the academic policies of WSoS.
Processing the application
Students diagnosed with learning disabilities and/or disorders by an authorized professional (public or private), and seeking academic accommodations, are required to contact the Students and Postdocs Wellbeing Officer .
Required Documents
A diagnostic report issued by a recognized professional body, describing the type of learning disability or disorder and including specific recommendations for accommodations, or an official letter from another institution of higher education (in Israel or abroad) confirming the student’s approved accommodations.
Approval
Upon submission of the request to the Students and Postdocs Wellbeing Officer, the student will receive an official WSoS document outlining the academic accommodations and adjustments to which he/she is entitled (e.g, extended exam time).
This official document must be presented at each examination. In addition, the student’s advisors and course instructors will be informed of the approved accommodation.
The document will be issued as soon as possible, and no later than 30 days from the date of submission.
