ORCID ID

ORCID ID for Students and Postdoctoral Fellows

The Weizmann School of Science (WSoS) reminds all students and postdoctoral fellows to ensure their personal ORCID ID is created and kept up to date.

What is ORCID?

ORCID provides a unique digital identifier that distinguishes researchers and ensures accurate attribution of publications, grants, and academic activities. Thousands of journals, funding agencies, and research institutions worldwide now require or strongly recommend ORCID for submission and reporting processes.

Why is this important?

  • Automatic linkage of publications to your academic profile
  • Increased research visibility in international databases
  • Support for grant and manuscript submissions
  • Persistent identification throughout your academic career

What should you do?

  • Register for an ORCID ID (if you do not already have one).
  • Enter or update your ORCID ID in the relevant Institute systems.
  • Update your profile and include your affiliation with the Weizmann Institute of Science.
