Brief

“We Have Chemistry!” is a national competition for students in 9th-12th grade, which has for the past 12 years been conducted and coached by a close collaboration between the chemistry group in the Weizmann Institute’s Science Teaching Department, Israel Chemicals Ltd., and the Ministry of Education. The highlight point of the competition is the finalists’ conference, during which students get to visit the Weizmann Institute and present their projects to their peers. The students have spent a great deal of time working on their entries, and it is understandable that they were looking forward to this closing conference, in which (at its end) the winners are announced. This year, due to the circumstances, the project leaders were forced into a tight two-week online format transition of the conference – one that could still serve as an exciting closure of the competition.
