ERASMUS+ Call for Applications for 2021-2022 

Under the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility project (ICM) framework, the Weizmann Institute has signed several Inter-Institutional Agreements with leading academic institutions in Europe.

The Erasmus+ ICM programme provides travel grants for students, faculty members, and administrative staff interested in visiting European higher education institutions to study, teach, or train. It encourages familiarization with the target institutions and critical people in these institutions to promote international cooperation, improving the capabilities and modernization of teaching systems ("Mobility Grants").

Amount of the Fellowship:

The Weizmann's Institute students will be fully funded and supported through studying/training in those institutions, and vice versa, for a limited period of 2 to 12 months for which credits are obtained.

Similarly, academic and administrative staff can spend a teaching/training period abroad of between 1 week – 2 months.


  • WIS student/staff member
  • Meets the requested qualifications (field of studies/research).  
  • Subject to approval by the relevant department in advance (students) or an invitation letter (staff).

How to apply:


Before applying:

  • Please read carefully the information provided in the various university information pages (via the links in the table above).
  • Evaluate carefully all of the considerations (including study/ family/ employment/ costs/ health, etc.) involved in deciding to study or train abroad.
  • Choose relevant educational institutions.


Attach the following documents to your application (in English):

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Academic Transcripts
  • A Letter of Motivation. In your letter, describe the reasons that you selected the institution at which you are interested in studying while commenting on the relationship between the curriculum offered at the foreign institution and your current and/or future academic studies, and the courses that you specified in the application form, language study/multiculturalism, etc.

Academic/Administrative Staff:

A Staff mobility application package needs to be submitted by the required deadline to the International Office, as per the call specifications and by the requested deadline.

A complete application includes:

  • Letter of Motivation and description of the mobility plan
  • Letter of Invitation from Host at Partner University
  • CV in English

Please note: Applications that are not submitted in full, with all required information and materials, will not be transmitted to the evaluation committee.
