F5 Client VPN

You may gain access to the Institute network for remote work on your Windows-based computer via the F5 Client VPN service.

To connect from afar via the F5 Client VPN, perform the following:

1. Use your browser to access https://evpn.weizmann.ac.il.

2. Enter your user ID and password on the page that loads.

3. Select the desired method to receive an OTP (One Time Password) – via SMS or RSA token, and click Logon.

4. Enter the one time password received via the selected method, and click Logon.

5. Click Download in the window that appears.​​​​​​​

6. When the download finishes, double-click the f5vpn_setup.exe file with your mouse.​​​​​​​

7. When requested to provide administrator permission for the installation, click Continue.​​​​​​​

8. Click Yes in the next window that appears to continue the installation.​​​​​​​

9. On completion and termination of the installation application, click Click here to connect.​​​​​​​

10. In the window that pops up (with Open F5 Networks VPN in its title bar), click Open F5 Networks VPN.​​​​​​​

11. Click the Add this site to your Trusted Sites list… option to confirm that you trust the target site.​​​​​​​

12. Click Yes in the next window.​​​​​​​

13. On conclusion of the installation, click Yes again in the next window to initiate the connection.​​​​​​​

14. When your work is finished, double-click the F5 VPN icon in the Windows task bar’s notification area.​​​​​​​

15. To disconnect from the network, click Disconnect in the window that appears.​​​​​​​

You may gain access to the Institute network for remote work on your Mac via the F5 Client VPN service.

To connect from afar via F5 Client VPN, perform the following:

1. Use your browser to https://evpn.weizmann.ac.il.

2. Enter your user ID and password on the page that loads.

3. Select the desired method to receive an OTP (One Time Password) – via SMS or RSA token, and click Logon.

4. Enter the one time password received via the selected method, and click Logon.

5. Click More options in the window that pops up.

6. Click Install/Reinstall Network Access Application in the subsequent window.

7. Click Download in the next window.

8. When the download finishes, double-click the mac_f5vpn.pkg file with your mouse.

9. In the installation application window that appears, click Continue.

10. Enter your computer’s authorization password to approve the installation, and click Install Software.

11. On installation completion, click Close.

12. Once the installation application window has closed, click Click here to connect.

13. In the window that pops up (with Open F5 VPN in its title bar), click Open F5 VPN.

14. On conclusion of the process, a window will appear with a Connected status indication.

15. When your work is finished, be sure to disconnect from the network by clicking Disconnect in this window.

To connect from afar via F5 Client VPN on Linux, perform the following:

1. Access evpn.weizmann.ac.il on your browser.
2. Log in using your Weizmann credentials.
3. Select RSA or SMS as the OTP method.
4. Click More Options.
5. Click Install Network Access Application.
6. Follow the instructions on the pop-up window that appears, to download and install the package for your Linux distribution (DEB or RPM).
7. On Debian and Ubuntu, run the following command:
   sudo dpkg -i install linux_f5vpn.x86_64.deb
   
   On CentOS and Fedora, run the following command:
   sudo rpm -ivh linux_f5vpn.x86_64.rpm
    
8. Run the F5 Network VPN application.
9. Select Always Allow.. on the security warning pop-up window.
