SecurID

The Weizmann Institute employs RSA SecurID password technologies to enforce secure authentication when accessing resources from outside the Institute.

One such technology, SecurID OTP (One Time Password), is a time-based, server synchronized mechanism that issues a temporary password, which can be used only once, during a limited (one minute) timeframe. No more than one SecurID can be allocated to each individual user, for use on a single device only.

To gain access to a secure service, you must enter a valid SecurID passcode, which comprises the following two numbers:

  • Your 4-digit PIN.
  • The 8-digit number currently displayed in your SecurID app on your mobile device.

You must define your PIN the first time you use your new SecurID.
