SecurID Activation on Android

To install the RSA SecurID app on your smartphone and submit your device ID:

1. Download the RSA Authenticator app from the Google Play Store.

2. Launch the app. When prompted to authorize access privileges for the app, tap Accept, then tap Allow.

3. Tap the 3-dot More button at the bottom right. Next, tap About, then tap the sharing button ( ).      

4. Select the preferred application, via which to send the device ID to your e-mail address, and proceed to the next step.

To register your device for SecurID:

1. Access RSA registration and log in using your Weizmann Institute user name and password.

2. Select your device type (Android).

3. Copy the device ID you e-mailed to yourself in the previous step, and paste it in the relevant field (shown below).

4. Click Submit. Wait for an e-mail confirming that your QR code is ready to arrive (note that delivery is not instantaneous, and it may take the QR code up to 30 minutes to arrive), and proceed to the next step.

To scan the QR code and import the RSA soft token to your mobile device (to be performed on a PC or Mac only):

1. Access RSA registration and log in using your Weizmann Institute user name and password.

You will be issued a QR code.

2. Launch the token app on your mobile device and tap Get Started.

3. Scan the QR code and enter the QR code password. You'll be presented with a successful import notification.

4. Click Submit on your PC or Mac, then proceed to the final step.

To define a PIN for the RSA app:

1. Access https://svpn.weizmann.ac.il/ on your browser.
2. Launch the RSA Authenticator app on your mobile device, leave the password field blank and tap Submit, as shown below, following which you will be issued an 8-digit code.

3. Back on your browser, log in with your user name, and the 8-digit code from the RSA app as your password.

4. Enter y in the text entry field and click Submit.

5. Enter a PIN code of your choosing in the text entry field (the PIN must comprise at least 4 digits, and it is advised that you even make it 8 digits long, for maximum security) and click Submit.

You'll be presented with notification of the PIN code having been accepted.

From this point on, use the new PIN when requested to enter one in the RSA app.
