Brief
PROFILES was funded by the FP7 program of the European Commission. The project’s consortium included 21 partner institutions from 19 different countries, and was coordinated by the Division of Chemistry Education at the Freie Universität Berlin.
The PROFILES project was divided into eight work packages (WP), and aimed at disseminating Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE) among the involved partners. Until today, the PROFILES partners utilize and manage innovative learning environments and programs which were developed in order to enhance the continuous professional development of teachers, e.g., to raise the self-efficacy of science teachers, and enable them to engage in broader and more impactful science teaching. All participants involved in PROFILES were supported by stakeholders from different areas of society.
The PROFILES project began on December 2010, and ended on November 2014.
