Study of the contribution and relevance of academic mathematics studies to teaching secondary school mathematics, focusing on two dimensions of mathematical knowledge for teaching.
In Israel, as in many other countries, academic mathematics studies are an important component of the professional education of secondary school mathematics teachers. The study examines the contribution and relevance of academic mathematics studies to teaching secondary school mathematics, focusing on two dimensions of mathematical knowledge for teaching: knowledge of topics, concepts, procedures, and the relationships between them, and knowledge about the nature of mathematics.
