The diverse needs of the of the community of faculty members of the Weizmann Institute of Science are served through various mediums, primarily the Academic Affairs Office, and the Research Grants Office, which together oversee faculty career advancement and grants administration. Academic affairs

The Academic Affairs Office handles all matters pertaining to the recruitment, hiring, and promotions of all faculty and staff scientists, positions for visiting scientists, honors and awards. It also oversees the Scientific Council and the Council of Professors.

Staff Scientists@Weizmann

Staff scientists at the Weizmann Institute of Science are part of the academic staff of the Institute. They conduct pioneering research within a research group and provide top-level technological and scientific support within the various research support units. Staff scientists are partners to the world-class scientific research conducted at the Weizmann Institute and play a prominent role in its scientific accomplishments. The staff scientist track is an academic tenure track (requiring a PhD or MD). It is comprised of four ranks: Assistant Staff Scientist; Associate Staff Scientist; Senior Staff Scientist; and Senior Research Fellow. Individuals are accepted into the track based on their scientific achievements, capabilities, and their potential to excel and to make significant contributions to the Institute’s research.
