Graduate studies & postdocs

The best way to learn and develop is to set imaginations and minds free.

The Weizmann Institute of Science plays a central role in developing Israel’s scientific brain power and cultivating the scientific leaders of tomorrow.

The Finberg Graduate School grants its graduates an accredited master's degree in the fields of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, mathematics and computer science, physics and science teaching, as well as PhD degrees in a regular and fast track in the fields of science. The FGS welcomes 1,500 active students and 450 postdoctoral fellows every year and has more than 10,000 graduates worldwide.

The Feinberg Graduate School

The Feinberg Graduate school offers MSc, PhD and Post doctoral programs. Our primary focus is on scientific exploration, which sets the tone for how we approach education and training. Students and postdocs spend most of their time in the labs, working alongside PIs and staff scientists doing pure science. They are immersed in a world-leading scientific institute, guided and supported by scientists who are working at the forefront. They are empowered with the freedom to explore their way.

Admission to the Feinberg Graduate School is highly competitive, reflecting the School’s international standing as a leader in science education. Students are selected based on their academic strengths and their potential for further growth and accomplishment.

While conducting studies toward an advanced degree, FGS students are intricately involved in lab work and are often first authors on scientific publications. Students select the research group of their choice; some areas like the life sciences require lab rotations.

Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral fellows enrich the Weizmann Institute with their experience and have the opportunity to advance their research and enter new fields, working side by side with principal investigators. Hundreds of international postdocs find their home at the Weizmann Institute every year, and their training here provides a springboard to the next stage of their scientific careers.
