Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NYOrganizer Department of Chemical and Biological PhysicsContact Abstract Show full text abstract about I will talk about fascinating phenomenon of internal waves i...» I will talk about fascinating phenomenon of internal waves in the ocean, how they were discovered, what is their role in general circulation in the ocean, and what is their spectral energy density. Their most interesting feature is that their spectral energy density
is universal, and is given by what is now called Garrett and Munk Spectrum of internal waves. I will show how wave turbulence theory may be used to describe internal waves.
