Anael is a PhD student whose research focuses on characterizing the behavior of Sr and Mg isotopes in coastal aquifers to understand groundwater flow time scales, under the supervision of Dr. Yael Kiro in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the Weizmann Institute. She has a BSc in Geology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and MSc in Geology from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and the Geological Survey of Israel. 

By studying various sites, including a carbonate-rich silicate aquifer at the Nitzanim Sand Dune Nature Reserve on the Mediterranean Sea coast, Anael investigates the chemical dynamics and contributions of groundwater to ocean chemistry, emphasizing the significance of water-rock interactions and residence time. 

In addition to her research, Anael is involved in scientific outreach and local environmental conservation efforts.
