About the Green Campus
Our mission is to lead the transformation of the Weizmann Institute into a living laboratory of advanced sustainable systems and practices, and to inspire and enable a culture of sustainability across campus.
Highlights
The Green Campus Committee is appointed by the President of WIS and advises Weizmann Institute management on sustainability strategies, policy, and implementation across campus. It is responsible for developing a roadmap to achieve our Green Campus vision to minimize our environmental footprint and create a sustainable, green, thriving environment.

The Weizmann Institute's Sustainability Office provides strategic and operational support to advance the vision and mission of the Green Campus, and works closely with the Green Campus Committee.
The Green Forum is the WIS student body that promotes environmental and sustainable activities on campus. Members come from across faculties and develop a range of programs to shape and advance sustainability practices at WIS.
Select activities:
- Educational team – raises awareness of sustainability issues at WIS
- Food rescue team – collects leftover food from campus to distribute to a local community refrigerator
- Swap events – organizes swap events for second-hand clothing and items
- Campus recycling & waste – promotes waste reduction and recycling initiatives
