Lerner (Alumni)

Prof. Tamir Klein’s lab, Department of Plant and Environmental Science

David Lerner is a PhD student at Prof. Tamir Klein’s lab in the Department of Plant and Environmental Science at the Weizmann Institute. David received a BSc in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Imperial College London and an MSc from the Weizmann Institute.

In his PhD work, David is studying the ecological and evolutionary forces that determine the distribution of tree species, and identifying properties characteristic to populations at the edge of their distributions. Beyond his academic work, he is involved in sustainability and climate activism, and is working to establish a dialogue platform to raise awareness and educate people on the risks of climate change and the importance of taking action. As part of this project, he gives lectures and creates dialogue circles, with the aim of raising awareness in the greater community.
