David Lev
Krongauz (Alumni)
David is a PhD student in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Weizmann Institute. He is conducting research on integrative bioinformatics for predictive diagnostics in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, under the supervision of Prof. Eran Segal. He has a BSc in Physics and Computer Science from Tel-Aviv University and an MSc in Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University.
His PhD research focuses on integrating bacterial metabolic pathway data with metagenomic microbiome and immunological repertoire data to predict active disease states in IBD patients. He employs advanced machine learning techniques to uncover patterns that enable improved diagnostics and personalized treatment strategies; this multidisciplinary approach aims to harness the full potential of biological data for better disease management and patient outcomes.
David is involved in a local community organization dedicated to urban environmental stewardship, where he monitors and promotes the health of urban trees.
