Prof. Ernesto Joselevich’s lab, Department of Molecular Chemistry and Materials Science

Dr. Ella Sanders works in the R&D Advanced development group in NVIDIA. She has a double BSc in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and an MSc and PhD in Chemistry from the Weizmann Institute. Her PhD work was performed in the group of Prof. Ernesto Joselevich in the Department of Materials and Interfaces, on the subject of nanostructures of halide perovskites and the effect of epitaxial strain on their optoelectronic properties. These materials are promising for high efficiency solar cells, and an understanding of the basic connection between their structure and properties is highly important for fulfilling their applicative potential.

In NVIDIA, Ella is currently researching advanced nanomaterials to be incorporated in data center components, specifically for more efficient heat spread and power delivery, in order to reduce energy loss to heat. In addition, she is working on future projects for alternative energy sources for cooling data centers.

Ella lives in a kibbutz in northern Israel, where she is strongly involved in community life, including the environmental committee that deals with both daily issues and large scale projects in the area.
