Yarden
Danieli (Alumni)
Yarden Danieli is a PhD student in the Department of Molecular Chemistry and Materials Science at the Weizmann Institute of Science, under the supervision of Prof. Ernesto Joselevich, exploring the world of materials on the nanoscale. He earned a BSc in Chemistry and s teaching certificate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and after serving as a physics and chemistry teacher as part of his military service, graduated with an MSc in Chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
In his PhD work, Yarden works to develop synthetic pathways for the growth of different nanocrystals with controlled dimensionality, position, and orientation - key features that are essential for their integration in next-generation electrical devices. Yarden is currently focusing on growing MoS2 nanocrystals and examining their performance in a series of electrical devices, already showing that this can be an active material in efficient and fast visible-light detectors.
Yarden is committed to science education and participates in educational activities at the Weizmann Institute of Science, working with a diverse range of students and youth.
