    Radiation transport and ion temperature in imploding plasmas.
    High-Power-Laser matter interaction:
    Warm dense matter (solid-state with temperatures above the Fermi energy) formed by intense laser solid-state interaction.
    Intense-Laser-Beam-guiding by the use of plasma channels.
    Development of novel spectroscopic diagnostic methods for matter under extreme conditions.
    Experiments are performed in major European laboratories: Jena, Drezden (Germany), Ecole polytechnique (France).
    Close collaboration with Universities and National plasma laboratories in the US (Cornell, Sandia, NRL, LLNL-NIF).
