All orders should be placed through the Internal Services  as described below.

Bacteriology Unit

Ordering custom agar plates: (not supplied by the WIS stockroom) should be either written in the notebook located in the Bacteriology unit, or ordered over the phone (x2768) by 10:45 AM each day.

You should also submit an appropriate order through the Internal Services web site, for the service “Bacteriology – Media and Plates” (see below).

Details needed when ordering Agar plates:

  • Type of plates (square/round and size 6cm/9cm/15cm).
  • Number of plates (for 9cm >=5 plates: for square and 15cm >= 3 plates).
  • Type of media (LB, YPD, SD etc.)
  • Antibiotics (name/s and final concentration/s): Be aware that we supply only routinely used antibiotics, including Amp, Cap, Tet, Kana, Strep & Spec, & Genta: all other antibiotics such as: G418, Hygro, Rif, & NAT, should be supplied by the user

 

Ordering custom liquid media: Please bring to the Bacteriology unit the relevant flasks and bottles, and put at the top of the available carts. Each container should be appropriately marked and should include the following details:

Name of Media, volume, Name of user (+ PI) & internal phone number

BE AWARE – dangerous glass containers, with cracked and/or with sharp edges (even if taped with a masking-tape !!), won’t be processed. It is your responsibility, for EVERYBODY’s safety, to make sure that such containers are either discarded or repaired.

You should also submit an appropriate order through the Internal Services web site, for the service “Bacteriology – Media and Plates” (see below).

Fermentation, harvesting & cell processing services: To schedule a fermentation, a custom harvesting, or high pressure processing of cells please contact Amnon (x2768). Be aware that when planning a fermentation, a detailed process description should be provided in advance (media, protocol, temp etc…). To this end, one has to fill, sign, at least a couple of days before the scheduled fermentation the following order form<href fermentation order 06_2016.doc>.

Next place an appropriate order through the Internal Services web site, for the service “Bacteriology – Fermentation” (see below).

Evolution and Genomic Repository Unit

You should also submit an appropriate order through the Internal Services web site, for the service “Clones and vectors repository”.
